Being a native Texan has influenced my landscape paintings and assemblages.  My strong Hispanic culture and a Southwestern lifestyle are evident in my life as well as in my art.

I attended the University of Texas at Austin and received a BFA in art education in 1973.  I taught in the public schools in Austin and San Antonio for 33 years.  My years of teaching art have allowed me to explore many different art forms.  I feel very comfortable with various media and techniques although I specialize in oil, watercolor, pastel and collage.

Traveling in the United States, Mexico, and Europe has influenced my focus on representational and abstract landscapes. The themes in my collages derive from a  personal search for spirituality.
